Still a great show

I grew up in Dallas in the 70s and ZZ Top was a staple on the a.m. radio dial. While Dusty is definitely missed, Billy still brought the energy and played like he was 40 years younger. Kudos to Elwood for his base play.

Some of the songs weren’t performed where Dusty had been the lead vocalist (Tush, Beer Drinkers/Hell Raisers), but I still loved the show.

The venue is a smaller amphitheater in the Atlanta area and we had a 1.5 hour rain delay before ZZ even hit the stage. Kenny Wayne Shepard band opened, and only got in 4 songs. Then we had to wait about 1.25 hours for the lightening to stop. We weren’t actually sure we were going to get to see ZZ Top because there is a noise ordinance that puts a hard stop at the end of the concert time. The guys came out and played damn near their full set plus a three song encore. They were determined not to let nature get the best of anyone that night and the fans were all appreciative. Every soaking one of us.
